Udaipur, April 9, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Following the directions of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta, excise enforcement teams conducted a special preventive drive across the state to curb illegal liquor manufacturing, storage, transportation, and sale.
The action was carried out under the supervision of Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat and Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) Anil Kumar Sharma, adopting a zero-tolerance approach against illegal activities and liquor smuggling from other states.
During the drive, teams carried out patrolling, barricading, and raids in Hanumangarh and Banswara districts. In Hanumangarh, raids in villages such as Amarpura Khedi, Munda, and Manaksar Diggiwala led to the destruction of around 4,000 litres of wash and six illegal distillation units on government land.
In Banswara and Kushalgarh areas, about 3,000 litres of wash were destroyed. Additionally, 173 bottles of illicit liquor were seized from the sites.
Officials said similar operations are ongoing in other districts, with continuous patrolling and enforcement actions to check illegal liquor activities across the state.
