Over 2.05 Lakh Litres Wash Destroyed, 605 Arrested in March | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, April 9, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): More than 2.05 lakh litres of wash used for illegal liquor production were destroyed across the state in March under a special preventive drive, Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta said.

As part of the action to curb illegal liquor manufacturing, storage, transportation, and sale, a total of 2,05,146 litres of wash was destroyed. During the same period, 820 cases were registered and 605 individuals were arrested under the Rajasthan Excise Act.

The excise department also seized significant quantities of liquor, including 8,114 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 4,168 bottles of country liquor, 4,621 bottles of illicit liquor, and 10,566 bottles of beer.

Officials stated that the enforcement drive was carried out under strict monitoring to control illegal activities across the state. Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat and Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) Anil Kumar Sharma confirmed that action was taken against those involved in illegal liquor operations.

Additionally, 20 vehicles used in illegal transportation were seized, including 12 two-wheelers, six light four-wheelers, and two heavy vehicles.

The department said the special drive will continue with intensified efforts in the coming months.
