Dehradun, November 9 (Udaipur Kiran) — Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttarakhand today to mark the silver jubilee of the state’s formation, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth more than ₹8,260 crore. The event will be held at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun.
According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will arrive at Jolly Grant Airport at 11:05 am, and from there, he will travel by a special Air Force helicopter to the Indian Military Academy (IMA). Around 11:45 am, he will proceed to the FRI by road.
During his visit, PM Modi will inspect exhibitions set up by the industries department and will address the State Foundation Day function between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. Following the ceremony, he will return to IMA by road and depart for Delhi by helicopter at 2:05 pm, reaching the capital by 2:55 pm.
In a social media post earlier today, Prime Minister Modi extended greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the state’s 25th Foundation Day, writing, “Heartfelt congratulations to my brothers and sisters of Uttarakhand on the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation. Nestled in the lap of nature, this Devbhoomi is progressing rapidly in tourism and every other sector. On this special occasion, I wish prosperity, good fortune, and health to the hardworking and divine people of Uttarakhand.”
At the ceremony, PM Modi will also release a commemorative postal stamp, review a theme park and pavilion depicting the state’s 25-year development journey, and interact with distinguished citizens.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also extended greetings on the silver jubilee of Uttarakhand’s foundation, stating that the state—built on the “sacrifice, struggle, and dedication of the statehood movement leaders”—is moving towards holistic progress under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi.
Dehradun has been decorated to welcome the Prime Minister. The FRI campus and surrounding areas have been declared a zero zone, with traffic diversions in place. Police, administration, and security agencies are on high alert, ensuring smooth arrangements for the grand celebration.
