Udaipur, May 21 (Udaipur Kiran) — The Department of Yogic Science at PAHER University organised a special lecture on “The Yogic Thali” to promote health awareness and balanced lifestyle practices among students.

Nutritionist Dr. Khushboo Sharda addressed the programme as the keynote speaker and shared detailed insights on yogic diet and the importance of balanced nutrition for physical and mental well-being.

The programme began with the welcome of the guest. Department head Dr. T.P. Ameta honoured Dr. Sharda with a traditional stole. Organising secretary Dr. Shubha Surana said that irregular eating habits and stressful lifestyles are leading to increasing physical and mental health problems in modern times. She said the concept of yogic food and balanced diet can guide people towards a healthier lifestyle.

Dr. Surana added that yoga is not limited to physical postures alone, but also includes proper food habits, positive thinking and disciplined daily routine.

During the lecture, Dr. Khushboo Sharda explained the concept of “The Yogic Thali” in a simple and practical manner. She said balanced food plays an important role in keeping the body, mind and soul healthy. According to her, a yogic diet gives priority to satvik food, including fresh fruits, green vegetables, whole grains, pulses, sprouts, dry fruits and adequate water intake.

She advised students to avoid junk food, oily meals and processed food items. She also explained that yogic food is not only meant to satisfy hunger but also to provide energy and mental calmness.

Dr. Sharda said food should be consumed at the right time, in a peaceful environment and with a positive mindset. She suggested avoiding mobile phones, television and other distractions while eating to improve digestion and maintain mental peace.

Highlighting modern lifestyle diseases, she said obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and stress are increasing rapidly due to unhealthy food habits and inactive lifestyles. She added that adopting a yogic lifestyle and balanced diet can help prevent many such health problems.

Giving the message of “Eat Right, Live Healthy,” she described health as the greatest asset in life.

Programme coordinator Dr. Jaswant Menaria said such lectures are essential for the overall development of students. He said the Department of Yogic Science regularly organises programmes related to health, yoga, nutrition and mental wellness to provide practical knowledge to students.

Teachers, research scholars and a large number of students attended the programme enthusiastically. During the interactive session, students asked questions related to nutrition, diet plans and yogic food, which were answered in detail by Dr. Khushboo Sharda.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the keynote speaker.
