TRUMP 2028: What! Trump selling 2028 hats on official site? Eric Trump says ‘never say never’

What! Trump selling 2028 hats on official site? Eric Trump says 'never say never'

What started as a crazy thought and then turned into a rumor and speculation now gets an official stamp and President Donald Trump‘s merchandise site started selling Trump 2028 hats. “The future looks bright! Rewrite the rules with the Trump 2029 high crown hat,” the description of the item said initially — hinting at rewriting the Constitution, as only that can make Trump’s third presidency possible. Later, the description was changed to: “Make a statement with this Made in America Trump 2028 hat. Fully embroidered with a snap closure in the back, this will become your new go-to hat.”
The change of the description indicated that someone in Trump’s inner circle must have noticed the peril that the initial description carried and toned it down making it look like just another product.
The 22nd Amendment of the Constitution makes it clear that no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. But Trump expressed his confidence that the rule can be bypassed and he still could be the 2028 Republican candidate.
Before the tariff trouble, Trump told NBC News last month that he was not joking about the possibility of another term but it was far too early to think about it. One of the method of getting to the president’s chair was through Vice President JD Vance. JD Vance runs for 2028 presidential election with Trump as his running mate, as he can run for the vice president, the theory goes. And once they are elected, JD can resign making way for the vice president to take the reins.
When Trump was told by NBC News about this route, he said it was one of the methods to get around the 22nd Amendment, and there are many. “A lot of people would like me to” be president again, Trump said.
Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) presented a constitutional amendment Jan. 23 that would edit the 22nd Amendment to allow a president to seek another term, as long as they were not elected in back-to-back cycles. “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times, nor be elected to any additional term after being elected to two consecutive terms,” Ogles’ proposal read.
However, many think that Trump keeps the talks alive only to enrage the Democrats and he may not actually have any such plan.
