Udaipur, May 23 (Udaipur Kiran) — PAHER University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of Fine Arts, organised a grand two-day International Seminar and Art Workshop on May 22 and 23, 2026.

The event emerged as an important platform for art, culture and international artistic exchange, with participation from renowned artists, academicians and students from India and abroad.

On the first day, an international seminar was held at Raman Hall. International artists and speakers including Tommy Barr, Dr. Gopal Prasad, Ankit Prasad and Keiichiro Kimori addressed the seminar.

PAHER University President Prof. Hemant Kothari welcomed the international and Indian artists by presenting bouquets and mementos. Addressing the gathering, he said such international events help students connect with global artistic perspectives and inspire young artists with new creative ideas.

During the programme, Prof. Hemant Kothari and Keiichiro Kimori also held discussions regarding an MoU and student exchange programme for students. The discussion focused on promoting academic and cultural exchange between Indian and Japanese art students.

The initiative is expected to provide students with opportunities to learn at an international level, understand new artistic techniques and engage with the global art community.

During the seminar, artists shared their views on contemporary art, traditional Indian art styles, global artistic dialogue and emerging creative possibilities. Students also interacted with the artists and gained insights into modern artistic techniques and international art practices.

On the second day, an international art workshop was organised where Tommy Barr, Dr. Gopal Prasad, Ankit Prasad, Keiichiro Kimori and Prof. Rajesh Kumar Yadav conducted live art demonstrations and practical sessions for students.

The workshop allowed students to closely observe contemporary and traditional art techniques while interacting directly with international artists.

The university described the programme as an inspiring and knowledge-rich experience for students. The department expressed gratitude to all guest artists, teachers and students for contributing to the successful organisation of the event.

Special thanks were also extended to Prof. Hemant Kothari for his guidance and inspiration and to Dr. T.P. Ameta for his continuous support and mentorship.
