Quetta, May 14: A prominent human rights organization has reported that Pakistani security forces have killed at least one civilian in Balochistan without legal proceedings and forcibly disappeared two others. These incidents come at a time when reports of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances are reportedly on the rise across the province.
The Baloch National Movement’s human rights department, “Pank,” stated that the body of 19-year-old driver Burhan Uddin was found in the Turbat area of Kech district. He had been forcibly disappeared approximately six months ago, and his body showed clear signs of severe torture.
According to the human rights organization, Burhan Uddin was abducted from his home on October 28, 2025. It is alleged that this was carried out by Pakistan-backed “death squads” and military intelligence personnel.
The organization expressed serious concern over the incident, stating that Burhan was “illegally held in government custody, denied any legal rights or court appearance, and ultimately murdered.”
Additionally, the organization condemned the enforced disappearances of two other civilians, who were reportedly taken by Pakistani security forces. They emphasized that these cases highlight the ongoing abductions of civilians in Balochistan and Karachi, raising serious questions about the rule of law and basic human rights.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Human Rights Council has completely rejected claims made during a press conference by Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti on May 11, which mentioned an alleged suicide bombing plot and named a Baloch minor girl. The human rights organization described these allegations as “false, fabricated, and part of a recurring process of forced confessions.”
According to the Balochistan Human Rights Council, the girl presented to the media is 17-year-old student Hairanisa Wahid, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces during a nighttime raid in the Hub Chowki area of Balochistan on December 20.
The organization stated that bringing a minor before the media after months of detention without contact raises serious concerns. It strengthens the likelihood of forced pressure, torture, and coerced statements. This is the third case where a woman has been presented for media trials after being missing for an extended period.
