Monthly Krishna Ashtami and Kalashtami Observance This Sunday


New Delhi, May 9: This Sunday marks the observance of Kalashtami and the monthly Krishna Ashtami, celebrated on the eighth day of the waning phase of the moon each month. The auspicious date falls on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Jyeshtha. This day is dedicated to Lord Kal Bhairav and Lord Krishna, with devotees performing rituals and prayers in their honor.

The Ashtami Tithi will remain until 3:06 PM on Sunday, after which the Navami Tithi will commence. However, according to Udaya Tithi, the significance of Ashtami will be observed throughout the day. The Nakshatra of Dhanishta will prevail until 12:50 AM, after which Shatabhisha Nakshatra will take over.

Sunrise is expected at 5:34 AM and sunset at 7:02 PM on Sunday. According to astrology, the auspicious Yoga Brahma will last all day on May 10, extending until 2:09 AM on May 11. The Karan Kaulav will be in effect until 3:06 PM, followed by Taitil Karan.

It is advised to avoid important tasks during inauspicious times such as Rahu Kaal, Yamgand, and Durmuhurta. Conversely, one can take advantage of the auspicious timings to initiate new ventures.

The auspicious timings for Sunday include Brahma Muhurat from 4:09 AM to 4:51 AM, and Pratah Sandhya from 4:30 AM to 5:34 AM. Abhijit Muhurat is considered favorable for good deeds from 11:51 AM to 12:45 PM, while Vijay Muhurat will be from 2:32 PM to 3:26 PM. The evening twilight period, known as Godhuli Muhurat, will occur from 7:00 PM to 7:22 PM.

The evening Sandhya will last from 7:02 PM to 8:05 PM, and Amrit Kaal will be from 1:49 PM to 3:30 PM, which is ideal for auspicious activities. Additionally, Nishita Muhurat will extend from 11:56 PM to 12:38 PM the next day (May 11).

Considering inauspicious times is also crucial. Rahu Kaal will be from 5:21 PM to 7:02 PM, during which starting any auspicious or new work is deemed prohibited. Yamgand will occur from 12:18 PM to 1:59 PM, Gulika Kaal from 3:40 PM to 5:21 PM, and Durmuhurta from 5:14 PM to 6:08 PM.

Moreover, Adal Yoga will be in effect from 5:34 AM until 12:50 PM on May 11, while Vidal Yoga will follow from 12:50 PM to 5:33 PM the next day. Panchak will last from 12:12 PM to 5:33 AM on May 11.
