Udaipur, April 9 (Udaipur Kiran): Police in Udaipur district have arrested an accused involved in a fraudulent land rights relinquishment case linked to a property valued at over Rs 2 crore in the Gogunda police station area.

The accused was produced in court on Wednesday and sent to judicial custody. The court also rejected his bail application.

According to the investigating officer, ASI Nandlal, the complaint was filed on January 2 by Gomti Bai, a resident of Kalwana Sayra. She stated that she owns a share in agricultural land located in Jaswantgarh, Gogunda, measuring a total of 7.4650 hectares, with her 1/44th share duly recorded in revenue records.

The complainant alleged that her sister, Dakhu Bai, impersonated her by posing as Gomti Bai and fraudulently executed a sale deed on July 30, 2025, transferring her share of the land to Ashok Kumar Joshi. The transaction was allegedly supported by witnesses Vishal Joshi and Suresh Chandra Paliwal, who, along with others, conspired to prepare forged documents and register the property.

It was further alleged that on the same date, Dakhu Bai was again presented as Gomti Bai to execute a relinquishment of rights for another parcel of land. The complainant stated that Dakhu Bai had already relinquished her rights earlier on March 7, 2022, and despite this, the fraudulent transaction was carried out knowingly.

The complaint also alleged that the accused persons, including Ashok Joshi, conspired to gain wrongful benefit and cause loss to the complainant by manipulating records and executing the sale deed under a false identity to avoid legal complications.

During the investigation, police arrested Deveelal, a resident of Badi Joshiyon Ki Bhagal, for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy. He was presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

During the bail hearing, the prosecution opposed the application, arguing that the case involves serious fraud related to illegal land transfer. After hearing both sides, the presiding officer rejected the bail plea of the accused.
