IPL 2026: Dhruv and Yashasvi Shine as RR Posts 210 Against GT


Ahmedabad, April 4: In the ninth match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals faced Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Batting first, Rajasthan scored 210 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal both contributed with half-centuries.

Rajasthan Royals started strongly after winning the toss. Vaibhav Suryaanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal displayed excellent form, adding 70 runs for the first wicket in just 6.2 overs. Vaibhav scored 31 runs off 18 balls with a strike rate of 172, hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a powerful innings, scoring 55 runs off 36 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Riyan Parag, however, could not make a significant impact, scoring only 8 runs off 4 balls before being dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.

Shimron Hetmyer started well but fell for 18 runs after 8 balls, caught by Mohammed Siraj off Ashok Sharma’s bowling. Donovan Ferreira was dismissed for just 1 run by Kagiso Rabada. Dhruv Jurel anchored the innings, scoring a remarkable 75 runs off 42 balls, hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja and Jofra Archer remained not out at 7 and 1 run, respectively. For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada took the most wickets, claiming 2, while Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Ashok Sharma each took 1 wicket.

Under Riyan Parag’s captaincy, Rajasthan Royals fielded a team comprising Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryaanshi, Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Tushar Deshpande, and Sandeep Sharma.

In the absence of Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans, led by Rashid Khan, included Kumar Kushagra, Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Ashok Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna in their lineup.
