DC Secures 17th Win Against MI in IPL 2026


New Delhi, April 4: Delhi Capitals (DC) achieved a remarkable victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) by 6 wickets in the eighth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. This win marks DC’s 17th victory in their 38 encounters against MI, placing them jointly second in the list of teams with the most wins against MI. Punjab Kings also share this record with 17 wins out of 34 matches against MI.

Leading the list is Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who have won 18 out of 39 matches against MI. Royal Challengers Bengaluru follows in third place with 15 wins from 34 matches, while Rajasthan Royals holds fourth place with 14 wins from 30 matches.

On Saturday, after losing the toss at Arun Jaitley Stadium, MI batted first and scored 162 runs, losing 6 wickets. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer for MI, making 35 runs off 26 balls, while captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 51 runs from 36 balls, including 2 sixes and 3 fours.

From the DC bowling side, Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets, while Lungi Ngidi, Axar Patel, Vipraj Nigam, and T Natarajan each claimed 1 wicket.

In response, Delhi Capitals chased down the target in just 18.1 overs. Pathum Nissanka scored 44 runs off 30 balls with 7 boundaries, while Sameer Rizvi played a stunning innings of 90 runs off 51 balls, hitting 7 sixes and 7 fours. David Miller remained not out at 21 runs.

With two wins from their initial matches, Delhi Capitals currently lead the IPL 2026 points table with a net run rate of +1.170, while Mumbai Indians sit in sixth place with a net run rate of -0.206 after one win and one loss.
