55 Pacific University Students Registered for Azim Premji Scholarship | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, September (Udaipur Kiran News) — Pacific University organized a seminar to create awareness about the Azim Premji Foundation Scholarship Scheme, aimed at supporting girls in higher education. During the event, 55 female students of the university were registered for the scheme.

A live demonstration was conducted to explain the registration process for the scholarship, which offers ₹30,000 annually to students who completed their Class 10 and Class 12 in government schools and later enrolled in college.

Focus on Girls’ Higher Education

Pacific University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Hemant Kothari said that while many talented girls in southern Rajasthan are forced to discontinue graduation studies due to financial constraints, the Azim Premji Foundation’s initiative provides them with a strong support system.

He added that the university has always prioritized girl child education, offering free education or scholarships to several students since its establishment. The seminar helped participants understand the complete process—from registration to receiving scholarships.

Foundation’s Perspective

Vishnu Joshi, Programme Coordinator at the Azim Premji Foundation, praised the university’s initiative, calling it an important step in creating awareness. He explained that the scholarship is available to students from government schools who pass Class 10 and 12 and pursue graduation, with registration open until September 30 through an online application.
