Udaipur Shock: Landlord Stabs Tenant to Death, Wife Critically Injured | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran News): A shocking incident was reported in Udaipur’s Surajpol police station area on Friday evening when a landlord allegedly attacked his tenants with a knife, killing the husband on the spot and leaving the wife critically injured.

According to Surajpol SHO Ratan Singh Chauhan, the accused landlord, Dinesh Bansal, had frequent disputes with his tenant, Narpat Singh (30), a native of Sayra, over electricity and water issues. On Friday, a quarrel escalated when Singh questioned Bansal about switching off the electricity supply. Enraged, Bansal allegedly stabbed Narpat Singh multiple times in the chest, killing him instantly.

When Singh’s wife Kalibai intervened, she too was attacked and sustained serious injuries. She has been admitted to MB Hospital in critical condition.

Accused Detained, Criminal History Revealed

The incident occurred near a temple, drawing immediate police response. The accused was detained shortly after the attack. Police confirmed that Bansal has a criminal history, including a prior incident where he was arrested for entering the Udaipur Collectorate with a firearm-like object. He also reportedly runs a medical shop, Bansal Medical, in the Surajpol area.

Police sources said the landlord and tenant had clashed over electricity issues just three days earlier. Friday’s confrontation escalated fatally when the accused resorted to violence.

Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case. Meanwhile, Kalibai continues to receive treatment, and her condition remains serious. Authorities said further legal action will follow once the investigation is complete.
