Superman, the highly anticipated superhero movie, has got off to a strong start at the Indian box office. The James Gunn movie, starring David Corenswet in the titular role, released on July 11, 2025.
According to Sacnilk.com, the fresh addition to the DC universe raked up ₹6.9 crore in India on its opening day. Also on July 11, 2025, Jurassic World Rebirth, on its eighth day of theatrical release,made ₹3.04 crore. Meanwhile, on its 15th day of theatrical run, Bard Pitt starrer F1 earned ₹1.93 crore.
The English version of Superman enjoyed an overall occupancy percentage of 24.96 on the first day. The movie has collected ₹55 million globally, according to Deadline.
Superman is mounted on a budget of ₹222 million and stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Carrigan, and Edi Gathegi in prominent roles. In the movie, Superman and his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor, face off as a black hole threatens to break the world in two.
The Hindu review of the movie said, “The electric action sequences are given an extra charge thanks to the kinetic camera. The profusion of reds and blues lends both a warmth and coolness to the proceedings.
