Hrithik Roshan’s sister, Sunaina Roshan, recently spoke about her battle with alcoholism and her time in rehab. She recalled the challenging phase, revealing that she was ‘grilled’ for nearly nine hours a day during her stay.

Speaking to Siddharth Kannan on his show, Sunaina Roshan revealed that she admitted herself to rehab to overcome her addiction. She described it as a difficult challenge and admitted she hadn’t expected it to be tougher than a typical rehabilitation centre.
Sunaina Roshan said, “It’s a 28-day course, and it’s not like a normal rehab. Basically, any kind of addiction is treated there. It was a 28-day course where there were like 56 counsellors grilling you. It was worse than normal rehab. I don’t know what normal rehab is all about, but this was in one room, for 89 hours. They are just grilling you.”
Sunaina Roshan shared how she pushed herself to endure the struggle, determined to overcome any challenges. She said she willingly took the step, knowing it would help her recover, adding, “I went there knowing I would get better. This is one step of moving ahead in life to get over my alcoholism.”
Sunaina Roshan further revealed that during her time in rehab for alcoholism, she was also restricted from consuming other potentially addictive substances, including sugar.
She revealed, “On admission, mom had to give them the numbers of people who could call me. There were no cell phones. There was no sugar allowed, no coffee, no chocolate Anything that is addictive again, no perfumes.”
Sunaina Roshan revealed that just as she started feeling better and left rehab, she learned about her father, Rakesh Roshan’s cancer diagnosis. She said the news hit her hard, leaving her unable to sleep, and she found herself in the washroom, calling her doctors for help.
