Ayodhya, July 13: The Sindhi community in Ayodhya held a press conference to address the controversy surrounding the donation of 200 silver bricks linked to the construction of the Ram Temple. Community representatives emphasized that the donation was a matter of faith and should not tarnish the reputation of the entire Sindhi society.
During the press conference, Naresh Kshetrapal from the Ram Nagar Sindhi Society, social worker Sandeep Mandhyan, and Sumit Makheja shared their views on the issue. They explained that the organization named World Sindhi Seva Sangam, led by Raju Manwani, collected the silver bricks from community members and donated them for the temple’s construction.
Sumit Makheja stated that the silver bricks were donated with devotion for the temple’s construction. He added that a personal opinion expressed by an individual associated with the organization regarding subsequent events related to the temple should not be generalized to reflect the sentiments of the entire Sindhi community.
Naresh Kshetrapal mentioned that questions raised by some so-called members regarding the donation have negatively impacted the community’s image. He highlighted that in Indian tradition, donations are made discreetly and selflessly, and turning a donation made with faith into a subject of controversy is inappropriate.
Kshetrapal accused certain individuals of attempting to defame the Sindhi community under the pretext of demanding an account of the donation from the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. He asserted that the community has always contributed to religious and social causes and should not be politicized in such matters.
Social worker Sandeep Mandhyan remarked that the donation of the 200 silver bricks symbolizes faith and dedication. He criticized attempts to politicize the issue, asserting that it is fundamentally a matter of religious sentiment. He noted that demanding an account after making a donation is not part of Sindhi traditions and values.
Mandhyan urged that religious and social activities should be kept free from controversies to maintain the unity of the community.
