Jaipur, November 12 (Udaipur Kiran): Under the ongoing ‘Operation Trinetra’ to apprehend wanted criminals, Nagaur Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting ₹15,000 reward-carrying accused Moolchand alias Mulya, a key member of an interstate Bawariya gang, involved in multiple high-value thefts.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Mridul Kachhawa, the arrest was made through a joint operation conducted by the Medtacity Police Station and the District Special Team (DST) Medta. The accused was wanted in a broad daylight house burglary that took place on April 11, 2025, in village Kurdaya, where the gang had broken into a house and looted valuables worth around ₹30 lakh.

As per the complaint filed by victim Parma Devi, the gang had stolen approximately 30 tolas of gold jewellery, 900 grams of silver ornaments, and ₹1.5 lakh in cash. Three other members of the gang — Nandaram, Hansraj, and Sheru — had already been arrested earlier in the case.

The Modus Operandi

Police investigations revealed that the Bawariya gang operated in groups of 10 to 12 members, using small vehicles with fake number plates. They would conduct recce during the day, targeting isolated houses or those near main roads. During the theft, 2–3 members would break into the house, while others stood guard outside, armed with stones, sticks, and other weapons for protection.

The arrested accused, Moolchand alias Mulya, son of Ramdev Bawariya, is a resident of Phulera, Jaipur, and is identified as one of the core members of the gang. His criminal record is extensive, with previous cases registered for robbery, dacoity, and sexual offences under the POCSO Act.

Police officials believe that Moolchand’s arrest will help solve several pending theft and burglary cases in Nagaur, Didwana, Jaipur, and adjoining districts.

This successful operation was carried out under the leadership of Station House Officer (SHO) Dharmesh Dayama, with active involvement of the DST Medta team and Phulera Police personnel.
