Jaipur, February 23, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – In a major crackdown under the ‘Nasha Mukt Barmer’ campaign, Barmer district police have exposed an illegal MD drugs manufacturing unit operating under the cover of a poultry farm. The police seized drugs, raw materials and equipment worth approximately ₹8.50 crore from the site.
Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena said that acting on specific intelligence, Sedwa police station team raided a location in the Sinhar area where the illegal factory was being run. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Sedwa SHO Prabhuram and Chohatan Circle Officer Jetharam.
According to police, the main accused, Adam Khan, had started a poultry farming business on his agricultural land to avoid suspicion. However, inside a shed constructed on the premises, MD drugs were allegedly being manufactured.
Drugs, Chemicals and Equipment Recovered
During the raid, police recovered 4 kg 073 grams of prepared MD drugs. In addition, 34.746 litres of hydrochloric acid, ammonia and acetone were seized along with 48 kg 021 grams of white and black powder, and 540 grams of illegal doda post.
The team also confiscated glass trays, an electronic weighing scale and machinery used for preparing the drugs.
Police officials stated that this is the fifth drugs factory unearthed in Barmer district within the past seven months. It is also the third major action in the Sedwa police station area during this period. SP Meena said strict action will continue against those pushing youth towards substance abuse.
One Arrested, Three Named
Police arrested the main accused, Adam Khan, a resident of Sinhar, from the spot. Three others — Karim Khan (Sinhar) and Navalram Jat and Jiyaram Jat (Deepala) — have been named in the case. They fled during the raid.
Special teams have been formed to trace and arrest the absconding accused. Police are also investigating the broader supply network and possible local connections.
The operation saw significant contributions from SHO Prabhuram, Head Constable Asuram and Constable Gangaram, among other team members.
Police have appealed to the public to cooperate in the fight against drugs and assured that identities of informants will be kept confidential.
