NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Friday that a Pakistani terrorist has been killed in an anti-terror operation in the Billawar area of Kathua, where an encounter broke out on January 7. The terrorist was from the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit, according to police officials. “The Pakistani terrorist killed in the gunfight in Kathua belonged to the JeM,” PTI quoted officials as saying.The encounter began at around 4pm on January 7, when a terrorist was spotted by the locals at the Kamad Nallah in the jurisdiction of the Billawar police station.Security forces repsonded by launching a search operation based on intelligence inputs indicating the presence of two to three terroristsAdditional forces had been deployed to the village to track down and eliminate the terrorists.(Developing story)
