Power Grid Shares Rise After Winning Karnataka Transmission Project | Udaipur Kiran


Mumbai, January 9: (Udaipur Kiran). Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd moved higher on Friday after the company emerged as the successful bidder for an inter-state transmission project in Karnataka.

The stock was trading at ₹261.65 on the BSE, up ₹2.15 or 0.83 percent from its previous close of ₹259.50. It opened at ₹260.05 and touched an intraday high of ₹264.20 and a low of ₹260.05. A total of 1,27,071 shares were traded during the session.

The BSE Group ‘A’ stock, with a face value of ₹10, has touched a 52-week high of ₹321.75 on April 21, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹247.50 on February 28, 2025. Over the past one week, the scrip traded between ₹257.85 and ₹273.25. The company’s current market capitalisation stands at ₹2,43,350.30 crore. Promoters hold a 51.34 percent stake, while institutional and non-institutional investors hold 45.06 percent and 3.61 percent respectively.

Power Grid Corporation said it has been declared the successful bidder under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding process to establish an Inter-State Transmission System for the project titled “Transmission system strengthening for integration of additional renewable energy potential at Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW)”. The project will be implemented on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The project includes a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line in Karnataka, along with associated line bay works at both ends and augmentation works, including ICTs and line bays, at the Davanagere and Bellary pooling stations.

The company said it received the Letter of Intent dated January 7, 2026, on January 8, 2026. Power Grid Corporation of India is a state-owned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram.
