Reliance Jio Nears 1 Crore Users in 5G FWA Segment | Udaipur Kiran

New Delhi (Udaipur Kiran). Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator, is on track to reach a 1 crore (10 million) user base in its 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) business soon. The company’s FWA service continues to make a significant impact on consumers’ lives and the telco’s overall business performance.

According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio’s 5G FWA base stood at 9.5 million at the end of September 2025. This includes two categories — UBR (Ultra Broadband Router) users and 5G FWA users.

As per the data, the 5G FWA user base reached 7.08 million, marking an increase of 0.32 million from 6.76 million in the previous month. Meanwhile, the UBR subscriber base rose to 2.48 million, up by 0.38 million from 2.09 million in the previous month.

Jio’s UBR subscriber base alone now exceeds Airtel’s total 5G FWA user base, which stands at 2.31 million. However, Airtel is preparing to roll out its 5G FWA services on the 5G SA (Standalone) network, a move expected to help it expand more aggressively in the coming months.

With Jio’s rapid growth, the 1 crore mark appears well within reach in just about a month. The overall industry 5G FWA user base has now crossed 11 million, reflecting India’s growing demand for high-speed broadband connectivity.

Telecom operators are expanding 5G FWA services across more regions to bridge connectivity gaps, especially in areas where laying fiber networks is challenging. While fiber broadband continues to offer superior performance and reliability, 5G FWA remains a critical solution to extend digital access and help India move closer to becoming a fully connected digital nation.
