Udaipur, October 15 (Udaipur Kiran): Prof. B.L. Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota, formally assumed additional charge as the Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur on October 15, 2025, at 4 PM in an auspicious ceremony held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
On this occasion, outgoing Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Registrar Ashok Kumar, Finance Controller Darshana Gupta, along with several senior officials, directors, deans, faculty members, non-teaching staff, representatives of the pensioners’ association and student union warmly welcomed Prof. Verma with bouquets and garlands.
The ceremony was also attended by former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Uma Shankar Sharma, Karan Singh Shaktawat, Employees’ Committee President Rajni Kant, Vice President L.N. Salvi, and several dignitaries from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, including Bharat Vyas, Dr. Hemraj Choudhary, Dr. Ashish Sisodia, Dr. Kunjal Acharya, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Meena, Dr. Anil Kothari, and Dr. Sagar Samaria, among many well-wishers.
After assuming charge, Prof. Verma interacted with deans, directors, professors, students, and other university officials to understand the university’s ongoing academic and research activities. Addressing the Senior Officers’ Council, he emphasized the need to strengthen agricultural research, education, and extension in line with the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP).
He expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor Haribhau Bagde and the State Government for their trust, stating that his focus will be on good governance, and the overall development of education, research, extension, and skill development within the university.
Prof. Verma also acknowledged MPUAT’s significant contributions to agricultural education, research, extension, and entrepreneurship in Rajasthan.
It is noteworthy that the Governor and Chancellor Haribhau Bagde had issued an official order on October 14, 2025, appointing Prof. Verma as the new Vice-Chancellor of MPUAT, Udaipur.
At the end of the ceremony, Registrar Ashok Kumar extended a vote of thanks to all guests and attendees.
