The stage was set on Friday when Housefull 5 took an opening of Rs. 24.35 crores and that too on a non-holiday. Hence, when Saturday saw Eid holiday coming into picture then there was an expected rise in collections. Of course, had this been the first day of release then the benefits would have been even better since on Saturday footfalls are as it is quite good. However, with word of mouth for the film being positive, the collections did end up seeing a very good rise.

No wonder, the film ended up growing huge as Rs. 30 crores milestone was crossed by the multi-starrer affair led by Akshay Kumar. So far, the biggest single day collections ever for the superstar has been Rs. 34 crores which was accumulated by 2.0 (Hindi) on its fourth day. Now Housefull 5 has already brought in Rs. 32.38 crores on Saturday and rest assured, Akshay Kumar would score the biggest ever day of his career today.

Sajid Nadiadwala has meanwhile scored the biggest ever day for him as his Housefull 4 had gathered Rs. 32 crores in its fourth day (day after Diwali) and now that number has been crossed by Housefull 5 on its second day. With the film setting new milestones, rest assured the filmmaker would be looking at bigger frontiers to be crossed with his next franchise offerings like Baaghi 4 (set to release later this year) and later Housefull 6 when it goes on floors. As for Housefull 5, the film has now collected Rs. 56.73 crores and is set to cross Rs. 90 crores milestone by the close of first weekend.
