KGF star Yash on Monday visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. Reports say the actor is set to begin shooting for the magnum opus Ramayana, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
Yash participated in the early morning Bhasmarti, one of the temple’s most revered ceremonies. Yash completed the necessary rituals of the ceremony as instructed by the temple priests. The Kannada superstar also performed the aarti during his visit. Yash sported a long beard and donned a white shirt for the visit.
While talking to ANI, Yash expressed his happiness at visiting the temple. “I am very happy. I wanted the blessings of Lord Shiva, as I am a huge devotee of Shiva. I prayed for the happiness and prosperity of everyone,” said Yash.
The actor’s visit to the temple reportedly came ahead of his shooting schedule for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which is expected to start soon. In April, 2024, Yash announced that his banner Monster Mind Creations has teamed up with Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus India to produce Ramayana. In October 2024, Yash confirmed that he will be playing the role of Ravan in the movie. Ranbir plays Ram while Sita.
Talking about the film in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Yash said, “For me Ravan is the most exciting character in the epic story. If you ask me if I would do any other character apart from him in the film, I would say no. I really liked the shades and nuances of that particular character. There was scope to present it in a different way.”
Meanwhile, Yash is awaiting the release of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups. The highly-anticipated pan-Indian film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is set to release on March 19, 2026.
