JioHotstar has officially announced its upcoming original series Kull, a psychological thriller rooted in betrayal, murder, and closely guarded family secrets. Created by Ekta R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, and produced under the Balaji Digital banner, Kull delves into the unsettling underbelly of a powerful family dynasty. The series stars Nimrat Kaur, Amol Parashar, Ridhi Dogra, Gaurav Arora, Rohit Tiwari, and Rahul Vohra, and is helmed by director Sahir Raza.

The official teaser, that dropped on April 18, offers a haunting glimpse into the Raisinggh family’s inner world – one filled with strained relationships, intergenerational trauma, and dangerous secrets. With a tagline that reads “Har Sach Ke Peeche Ek Aur Jhooth Hai” (Behind every truth, lies another lie), the series aims to unpack the layers of deception and emotional trauma within a fractured household. The show, which marks a collaboration with Balaji Digital, will premiere exclusively on the platform on May 2, 2025.
“Kull is a reminder that sometimes the darkest secrets are the ones families hide,” said lead actor Nimrat Kaur. “I play the character of Indirani who is layered, guarded, fierce and complex; and it was indeed challenging to bring her to life! This show dissects the legacy of silence and secrets and I can’t wait for the audience to see how the story unravels. Kull is filled with raw emotion, and I’m so excited for everyone to experience it on JioHotstar,” she added.
Director Sahir Raza further elaborated on the show’s themes, stating, “Kull isn’t just a thriller, it’s a descent into the dark corners families dare not speak of. With its focus on psychological tension, emotional complexity, and a storyline that unravels through revelations and reckonings, Kull adds a darker, more mature tone to JioHotstar’s growing catalogue of original content.
