Actress Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with her boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in a private ceremony last year. Her inter-faith marriage has often made her a target of online trolling.
Sonakshi Sinha shuts down troll who said, “Your divorce is too close to you”
Recently, a troll commented on one of her photos, “Your divorce is too close to you.” Sonakshi responded sharply, saying, “Pehele teri mummy papa karenge, phir hum. promise (First, your parents will get a divorce. Then we will, promise).”
Last year, speculation about Sonakshi Sinha’s pregnancy circulated online after she was seen outside a clinic and later posted a photo with her pet. Addressing the rumours during an interview with Curly Tales, Sonakshi responded when asked about receiving multiple dinner or lunch invitations post-marriage: “Yes, and guys, mein yahan par kehna chahti hoon, I’m not pregnant. Mein bas moti ho chuki hoon.” (I want to say here that I’m not pregnant. I have just gained weight). She added, “That day somebody congratulated him (Zaheer Iqbal). Can’t we enjoy our marriage?” To this, Zaheer jokingly replied, “The next day her diet started.”
Sonakshi further shared, “It’s only been four months. We are genuinely busy traveling so much. We are enjoying ourselves and people’s lunch and dinner are not getting over.” Zaheer humorously added, “The funny part is it came out of somewhere. There was a photo of us with our dog and they were like ‘Oh she is pregnant’. I was like how is it even related?” To this, Sonakshi remarked, “People are crazy.”
In a recent YouTube live session with husband Zaheer Iqbal, Sonakshi Sinha spoke about feeling cherished by her in-laws. She shared how, despite being pampered as a daughter in her own home, she feels even more loved in her new family. When asked about the difference in treatment, she said, “As a daughter, I was obviously very pampered in my own house. But in my in-law’s house, they treat me like more than a daughter. I feel I’m truly blessed to have found in-laws like that.” She added, “Kyunki wo responsibility bhi hai ki kisi aur ki beti humare ghar pe aayi hai… So they just go an extra mile every time and they just make me feel like I have always lived here and I’ve been born in this house and I am the daughter of this house.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot in June, registering their marriage under the Special Marriage Act.
