Sai Tamhankar is set to showcase a new dimension of her artistry in Devmanus, Luv Films’ upcoming Marathi film, with her Lavani debut in the track ‘Aalech Mi’. Backed by producers Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, it brings together a notable cast that includes Mahesh Manjrekar, Renuka Shahane, Subodh Bhave, and Siddharth Bodke. In the midst of this ensemble, Sai Tamhankar takes centre stage in a traditional Maharashtrian Lavani, marking a first in her career.
Sai Tamhankar makes Lavani debut with ‘Aalech Mi’ from Devmanus
The song ‘Aalech Mi’ is composed by the music duo Rohan-Rohan and features vocals by Bela Shende, known for her contribution to Marathi folk and classical music. The lyrics are written by director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar with additional contributions by Rohan Gokhale. Choreographed by Lavani specialist Ashish Patil, the track blends energetic beats with detailed choreography rooted in the folk tradition.
Sai Tamhankar dedicated over 33 hours in rehearsals to prepare for the number. Speaking about her experience, she said, “Performing Lavani for the first time in Devmanus has been an incredibly amazing experience! It’s a new shade of me, and I truly enjoyed every bit of it. The song is a catchy, foot-tapping number and the moment I heard it I was excited to groove on it. I’m truly grateful to Luv Films & Tejas for envisioning me for this song. This Lavani wouldn’t have come alive the way it did without Ashish’s insight and support. I’m excited for the audience to see this side and I hope they love it as much as I did!”
With its mix of traditional aesthetics and contemporary appeal, ‘Aalech Mi’ aims to add a cultural layer to the film’s narrative. The song is now available for viewing online and has begun gaining attention for its vibrant setting and choreography. The film, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar and a Luv Films presentation, is set to hit cinemas on April 25, 2025.
