Janhvi Kapoor, who is currently preparing for her upcoming role in Maddock Films’ Param Sundari, took a moment to send warm wishes to her South Indian fans on the occasion of Vishu and Tamizh Puthandu. The film, which stars her opposite Sidharth Malhotra, marks a significant step for the actress as she takes on a role rooted in South Indian culture and language.

Sharing her excitement and gratitude on social media, Janhvi Kapoor wrote, “Happy Vishu and Happy Puthandu! ?? my Malayali and Tamil fam, I hope you guys have the best year ahead filled with love, prosperity and happiness ? you guys have always given me so much love and encouragement and made me feel like a part of you’ll- and it’s meant so much to me 🙂 I wouldn’t feel worthy of that privilege if I didn’t atleast try to speak in your sweet sweet language. So here is my attempt ?? pls forgive me for my mistakes I’m still learning but will get there soon I promise.”
As part of her preparation for Param Sundari, where she plays a quintessential South Indian character, Janhvi has been working on learning both Tamil and Malayalam. She credited actor Roshan Mathew, director Mathukutty Xavier, and cinematographer Manush Nandan for helping her with the language and cultural nuances essential for her role. She acknowledged them in her post, writing a special shout-out to her tutors for their support and guidance as she continues her language-learning journey. Her message and effort to speak in Tamil and Malayalam have been appreciated by fans, who welcomed her sincerity and dedication to embracing her roots and portraying the role with authenticity.
Janhvi’s connection to the South Indian community runs deep. Her mother, the late Sridevi, was a legendary figure in Tamil cinema and remains one of the most celebrated actresses in South Indian film history. Janhvi has often spoken about the impact her mother’s legacy has had on her career, and has always made efforts to embrace Tamil and Malayalam culture.
