Tabu has gotten on board director Puri Jagannadh’s pan-India project that is set to feature actor Vijay Sethupathi. The project is being produced by Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur’s production house Puri Connects. The duo took to social networking site Instagram to share the news.
Recently, Tabu was cast as Sister Francesca in Max’s (formerly HBO Max) Dune: Prophecy. Released on the heels of the success of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, he series draws its narrative DNA from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s gripping novel, Sisterhood of Dune. Recently, reports of her joining Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan in the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla made headlines, with the film set to release in 2026.
Puri, meanwhile, hasn’t had much luck in his recent directorials, with both Liger, starring Vijay Deverakonda, and Double iSmart, starring Ram Pothineni, turning out to be disasters at the box office.
Other details regarding the cast and crew are yet to be announced.
The shoot for the film is slated to begin in June and it is set to be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
