Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, who made her debut as a teenager in Satyajit Ray’s Mahanagar, has had an illustrious career in Indian cinema. Her filmography includes memorable films such as Uphaar, Koshish, Kora Kagaz, Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke, Mili, and the cult classic Sholay. In addition to her achievements in cinema, she also serves as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. Today, she celebrates her 77th birthday.

Taking to Instagram, Navya Naveli Nanda shared a birthday post for her grandmother Jaya Bachchan. She posted a photo with the veteran actress on her Instagram Stories, where the two are seen in a candid moment. In the picture, Navya has her arm around her grandmother. “Happy Birthday Nani”, she wrote.
Actress Kajol also wished Jaya Bachchan on her birthday by posting a photo on X. In the picture, they are hugging at a Durga Puja pandal. Jaya Bachchan is wearing a mustard saree, and Kajol is in a floral one. Kajol wrote, “Happy birthday to the most no-nonsense woman I know. Wish you a fantastic year ahead, Jaya Bachchan.”

Jaya Bachchan is not on social media, but Amitabh Bachchan thanked fans for their wishes on her behalf. He shared a message on his official X account to acknowledge the greetings.
He tweeted, “T 5343 – to all that have wished Jaya on her birthday, my gratitude and love .. it will be impossible to respond to each one hence this comment here.” The actor further wrote in Hindi (which translates to), “Thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all those who wished Jaya on her birthday. It won’t be possible to respond to everyone personally, so I’m writing here. Love, thanks, and appreciation.”
