Sharbari Wagh Embraces New Languages in Upcoming Film

Mumbai, June 6: Bollywood actress Sharbari Wagh is currently in the spotlight for her upcoming film “Main Wapas Aaoonga.” In this film, she portrays a character that is quite different from her own cultural background, requiring her to understand a new language and culture. She shared her experience during a recent conversation.

Wagh stated, “At home, I speak Marathi, and I was raised in a completely Marathi culture. Therefore, playing the role of a Punjabi woman was a new and exciting experience for me.”

She expressed her fascination with languages, saying, “In a country like India, there are endless opportunities for artists to learn and understand. With so many languages and cultures, every new character opens the door to a new world. For an actor, it’s not enough to just deliver dialogues; understanding the emotions, tone, and culture associated with that language is also essential.”

Despite her enthusiasm for learning new languages, Wagh emphasized that her mother tongue, Marathi, remains closest to her heart. “Whenever I need to emotionally prepare for a scene or connect with a particular feeling, I often listen to Marathi songs. The words in Marathi resonate deeply with me,” she added.

Wagh also highlighted the importance of staying connected to one’s roots while learning new things. “Being from Maharashtra has made it easier for me to understand and adopt other languages. Many languages in India are interconnected in some way, which is why the process of learning a new language has been enjoyable rather than challenging for me.”

The film “Main Wapas Aaoonga” is a love story set against the backdrop of India’s partition. Alongside Wagh, renowned actors Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah will also play significant roles.

Produced by Birla Studio, Applause Entertainment, Mohit Chaudhary, and Shibashish Government’s Window Seat Films, the film is set to release in theaters on June 12.
