DMFT Clears Path for Filling Vacant Medical Posts, MRI Machine Approved for District Hospital | Udaipur Kiran


UDAIPUR, June 4, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Several public welfare issues were raised by MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat during the 12th Governing Council meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), held on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector Gaurav Agrawal. Proposals worth around ₹250 crore were discussed, with education and healthcare receiving priority.

Dr. Rawat proposed the establishment of a diploma-level college in Tidi village, libraries at all block headquarters, development of horticulture and vegetable production hubs in 10 villages of the Dewas cluster and the Jawar-Chanawada Valley, and conservation of stepwells across the district.

Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi attended the meeting as a special guest. Discussions were held on the trust’s income and expenditure, progress of previously approved projects, and new proposals submitted by various departments.

Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi, Udaipur MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat, Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti, Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi, Mavli MLA Pushkarlal Dangi and officials from various departments were present.

During the meeting, Dr. Rawat informed members that after obtaining the necessary approval from the state government, the way has been cleared for appointing medical personnel to vacant posts in the Health Department through DMFT funds. He said this would help further strengthen healthcare services in the district.

The meeting also unanimously approved a proposal to install an MRI machine at the District Hospital. In addition, issues related to education, healthcare, drinking water and infrastructure development were discussed extensively. Public representatives stressed the need to strengthen school infrastructure, including classrooms, buildings and drinking water facilities.

Dr. Rawat also suggested considering the establishment of parliamentary complexes, block-level libraries for youth, restoration of stepwells, pastureland development, operation of skill development centres in ITIs and the establishment of agro-processing units through DMFT funding.

District Council ACEO Virma Ram informed the meeting that proposals worth approximately ₹250 crore were presented. He also submitted a progress report on projects approved in previous years. Since 2017, development works worth about ₹1,069 crore have been completed across various departments through DMFT funds.

Instructions to Expedite Pending Projects

Tribal Area Development Minister Babulal Kharadi directed officials to send pending technical approvals of previously sanctioned works at the earliest.

Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia urged departments to start approved projects promptly so that the public could benefit. He particularly suggested completing education department-related construction works before the end of summer vacations.

C.P. Joshi Stresses Safe School Buildings

Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi emphasized obtaining approvals for pending state-level cases at the earliest and said that providing adequate and safe school buildings for students should be a priority. He also stressed the importance of ensuring quality drinking water.

Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena highlighted the condition of dilapidated classrooms and school buildings. He also pointed out the need to repair a damaged 800-metre section of the drinking water pipeline carrying water from Jaisamand.

Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain and Udaipur Rural MLA proposed the installation of CCTV cameras at various locations in the city to strengthen security arrangements.

Vallabhnagar MLA Udaylal Dangi called for accelerating previously approved and ongoing works and proposed the construction of a Dak Bungalow at Dabok Chauraha.

Gogunda MLA Pratap Gameti suggested holding monthly review meetings to monitor the progress of approved school-related works and also stressed the need for an effective system for handpump repairs.

District Collector Gaurav Agrawal expressed commitment to accelerating development works related to education, healthcare, drinking water and infrastructure through DMFT based on the proposals and suggestions received from public representatives, ensuring maximum benefit to the public.
