
Jaipur, May 29 (Udaipur Kiran) – Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas visited the Police Headquarters on Thursday and held a high-level meeting to review the functioning of cyber crime control mechanisms, Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 and Rajasthan Cyber Crime and Operation Center (R4C).
Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma welcomed Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant during the visit.
The Chief Secretary spent more than two-and-a-half hours reviewing the structure and functioning of the cyber crime cell and the implementation of Cyber Helpline 1930. He also gave important suggestions to officials and assured full support from the state government.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the operation of Cyber Crime Helpline 1930, call response systems and the investigation process related to cyber crimes. He directed officials to make the helpline more robust and effective and set a target of implementing a detailed policy plan within the next 30 days.
V. Srinivas also inspected the cyber crime helpline established at the Police Headquarters and listened to several live calls. He observed how cyber crime complaints are registered and how the FIR and investigation process moves forward.
ADG Cyber Crime V.K. Singh briefed the Chief Secretary about the functioning of the call centre and the complaint disposal system.
The Chief Secretary said stronger technical capability and coordination are necessary for effective prevention of cyber crimes and faster action. He directed officials to make the Rajasthan Cyber Crime and Operation Center (R4C) fully operational at the earliest.
He also instructed officials to improve the existing call centre system to ensure faster and more effective disposal of complaints.
Several key decisions and directions were issued during the meeting:
- Telephone lines and call operators for Helpline 1930 will be increased by June 15 to ensure immediate response for every cyber crime victim.
- Monthly reports will be published to improve the quality of cyber crime reporting and grievance redressal.
- Cyber police stations across the state have been directed to share their daily achievements and actions with the public through social media.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will be used to make Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 more effective and public-friendly.
The Chief Secretary also said a monthly review system would be developed for the performance evaluation of 41 cyber security police stations in the state. Special workshops will also be organised for concerned officers.
He further directed officials to conduct a detailed analysis of the time taken between reporting a cyber crime and blocking the related bank accounts to ensure faster relief for victims.
V. Srinivas expressed confidence that positive and effective results in cyber crime control would be visible within the next 30 days.
