Three Sent to Judicial Custody in Udaipur Firing Case | Udaipur Kiran


Udaipur, May 28 (Udaipur Kiran) – Three accused, including the main accused, were sent to judicial custody on Wednesday after completion of police remand in connection with a firing and knife attack case under the Ghantaghar police station area. Police also recovered a bike, scooter, knife and pistol allegedly used in the incident.

Ghantaghar Station House Officer Karmveer Singh said that the accused, identified as Irfan Pathan, Mohammad Hussain and Arbaz Khan, were arrested for allegedly carrying out a murderous attack on Mohsin Khan alias Pinocchio and his associates.

During interrogation, the accused told police that Irfan Pathan had called his relative Mohsin and his associate Arjun from Madhya Pradesh to execute the planned attack. Police said the main accused also admitted that a pistol had been arranged nearly five days before the incident with the intention of carrying out the attack.

Police further stated that based on information received during remand, shooters Mohsin Khan and Arjun from Madhya Pradesh were arrested and are currently on police remand till May 30.

During the investigation, police recovered the bike used in the incident on the information provided by Arbaz Khan. The scooter and knife used in the attack were recovered following information given by Irfan Pathan, while one pistol was seized from Mohammad Hussain.

After completion of remand, the three accused were produced before the court on Wednesday and were sent to judicial custody.

Police officials said efforts are continuing to recover another pistol allegedly used in the incident. Investigation is also underway to trace the source from where the weapon was arranged.

According to the complaint filed by Mohsin Khan alias Pinocchio, the incident took place around 10 pm on Wednesday night when he was sitting outside a shop behind Panchayati Masjid along with his friends Salman and Najib. During that time, a scooter and motorcycle stopped near them and the accused allegedly started abusing them before opening fire.

One bullet reportedly hit Salman in the waist while another grazed Najib’s shoulder. The complainant alleged that when they tried to escape, the accused chased them and attacked them with knives, leaving all three injured. The injured are currently undergoing treatment in hospital.
