Bhopal, May 20: Ex-servicemen organized a bike rally on Wednesday to demand justice for Twisha Sharma, who recently passed away. Led by retired Major General Shyam Srivastava, the rally commenced from the Shaurya Smarak and proceeded to the DGP office, where participants called for a fair investigation and a second post-mortem. A significant number of ex-servicemen attended the event.
The participants emphasized that the rally was not just about seeking justice but also aimed to convey a message of unity within society. They stated their intention to visit the DGP office first, followed by the Raj Bhavan and then the Chief Minister’s residence.
Speaking to the media, retired Major General Shyam Srivastava expressed, “We are holding this bike rally today to ensure Twisha receives justice. We want to convey to the authorities that we stand with the family and request their assistance in this matter. A court hearing is scheduled for today, and we hope for a positive outcome. Everyone has the right to justice, and a second post-mortem is essential.”
During the meeting, Srivastava discussed the need for an impartial investigation under the supervision of a senior officer with a representative from the DGP’s office. He mentioned that he had met with Anil Kumar Sharma to detail their demands and engage in a thorough discussion. Sharma indicated that they were considering the necessity of a post-mortem, and after explaining their reasons, he assured that family members would be included in every step of the investigation process.
Earlier, Twisha’s father, Nav Nidhi Sharma, stated that they filed a petition in court to ensure there are no doubts regarding the true cause and circumstances of her death. He expressed concerns that unnecessary delays in the process could impact crucial forensic findings, potentially hindering justice.
