Mumbai, May 18: Renowned director Karthik Subbaraj and legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja are set to collaborate for the first time on a film. This project marks Karthik’s tenth directorial venture and is considered Ilaiyaraaja’s 1540th film, making it a significant milestone for both artists.
Karthik Subbaraj is recognized as one of the most innovative directors of contemporary Indian cinema, having carved a unique identity through his storytelling techniques, use of music, and deep character development. He has been a long-time admirer of Ilaiyaraaja’s work and has often paid tribute to the composer in his films.
Ilaiyaraaja expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “For me, cinema and music have always been intertwined with emotions. The greatest strength of any film lies in its true story and the passion of the people behind it. Karthik Subbaraj’s love and dedication to filmmaking are evident in his work. I experienced something unique while working on this film.”
He further added, “Every film has its own distinct feel and music. While working on the background score, I felt that the music is so good that it could be released as a separate album. I hope fans will love this music, and that the film and its soundtrack will resonate with audiences.”
