Ujjain to Gain Metro City Status: CM Mohan Yadav


Mumbai, May 15: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that Ujjain will be recognized not only as a spiritual and cultural city but also as a metro city. The announcement was made during an event at the Jai Gurudev Ashram on Ujjain-Maksi Road.

During the event, CM Yadav expressed optimism that by the Kumbh Mela in 2028, Ujjain would be established as a metro city alongside its spiritual and cultural identity. He noted that Ujjain has transformed into a city of festivals in addition to its religious significance.

The Chief Minister highlighted the construction of Gita Bhavans in every district, where teachings of Lord Krishna will be shared, promoting spiritual study. He emphasized the importance of supporting Gopalak families economically while embracing the teachings of Lord Krishna.

CM Yadav also visited Gurudev Maharaj at the Jai Gurudev Ashram to seek blessings and listen to his divine discourse. On this occasion, Gurudev Umakant Maharaj blessed the Chief Minister.

He remarked on the significance of human life in Sanatan Dharma, stating that it is a rare opportunity after 84 lakh life forms. The teachings provided guide individuals towards a simpler and more disciplined life.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the government is working on establishing and protecting gaushalas (cow shelters) in the state. Ujjain, along with other religious towns, has implemented a ban on alcohol, which is in effect in 19 cities, including Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Datia, and others.

CM Yadav reiterated the role of saints in promoting Sanatan traditions and guiding people towards a righteous way of living, which the state government is committed to implementing.
