Global Attention on China-US Summit

Beijing, May 14: The summit between Chinese and American leaders has garnered significant global attention, with various international media outlets covering it extensively. The stable development of China-US relations is crucial, and there are hopes that expanding cooperation between the two nations will bring greater stability and certainty to the world.

According to the Business Times of Singapore, the summit held in Beijing is the most important meeting in international relations so far in 2026. This meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump is set to define the direction of the most significant bilateral relations on a global scale.

The US think tank Council on Foreign Relations noted that the meeting between President Trump and President Xi is highly anticipated. When the world’s two largest economies and most powerful nations engage in dialogue, the world becomes a safer place.

Scott Kennedy, a China expert at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, commented that in the past six months, growing concerns over uncertainty in the US have prompted several Western leaders to visit Beijing in search of cooperation opportunities. These visits reflect a widespread perception among various countries, including close US allies, that severing ties with China is currently not feasible, and trade relations are vital for their own economic growth.

An article published in Kazakhstan’s Astana Times stated that among major powers, China advocates for an international order centered on the United Nations, sovereign equality, non-interference in internal affairs, prioritization of development, and coexistence of diverse civilizations. China’s global civilization initiative supports respect for cultural diversity and opposes imposing a single model on others.
