New Delhi, May 10: Hampton Sky Realty Limited, a company linked to Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, has publicly addressed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation and allegations for the first time. In an official press statement, the company expressed complete trust in the country’s judiciary and legal processes, asserting its full cooperation with investigative agencies.
In its statement, the company made several significant claims regarding its mobile export business. According to Hampton Sky Realty, it commenced operations in mobile phone exports in May 2023. The company highlighted that the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme have bolstered mobile manufacturing and exports, prompting its entry into this sector. It also noted that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a major and crucial market for Indian mobile exports.
The company claims to have exported a total of 44,471 genuine mobile phones and accessories, including devices from major brands like Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus. All shipments reportedly underwent customs clearance and OEM verification processes.
To support its claims, the company referenced IMEI verification, stating that each mobile phone’s unique IMEI number was verified. According to the company, Apple and Samsung acknowledged the authentic IMEI numbers of the exported devices. Furthermore, it claimed that all phones were activated after reaching their foreign destinations.
Hampton Sky Realty has categorically denied allegations of fake exports and round-tripping. The company stated that all funds received from exports were through legitimate banking channels, and all payments to suppliers were also made via banking methods.
Regarding the GST fraud case, the company described itself as a victim. It mentioned that some suppliers are accused of GST fraud, but emphasized that this issue lies on the supplier side. The company claimed to have filed an FIR regarding this matter at the Focal Point police station in Ludhiana.
The company also stated that the disputed GST amount has already been deposited, and the case is currently pending with the GST appellate authority. According to the company, the government has not suffered any financial loss so far.
Hampton Sky Realty reiterated its commitment to cooperating with all investigative agencies and assured that all necessary documents will be presented in legal forums. The company expressed confidence that ultimately, “the truth will prevail.”
