Finn Allen took home all the plaudits for his sensational hundred during the clash between DC and KKR at the Arun Jaitley stadium, but Cameron Green played an important role in him getting to the milestone. Of course, everyone would be looking at the 116-run stand between the duo, where Green contributed 33 runs off 27 balls. But it was the quick calculations from the Australian all-rounder that helped Allen get to his maiden hundred.

But Green had a hilarious reason why he decided to knowingly play second fiddle during the partnership. Speaking to the broadcasters after the match, Green said that he didn’t want the tag of being the most hated man in Kolkata, so he did all the calculations by himself while Allen was going berserk at the other end.
“I think I did the math when we had 29 to get. So yeah, I knew I’d be the most hated man in Kolkata if I did anything else apart from that.”
“No, not us. I was, I did the math. But no, Finn’s very good at maths as well, so I’ll give him credit for that. So, probably, he was probably doing the same,” said Green.
‘NOT SUPRISED BY FINNSANITY’
Allen scored 100 off just 47 balls to help KKR register an eight-wicket win against DC to make it four on the trot and continue their resurgence.
The New Zealand opener had struggled in the initial phase of the tournament and found himself out of the team. Another issue was that he never saw off the powerplay in any of the game that he had played till that point.
He put on a cautious approach in the first six overs and then started to take down the DC bowlers with ease and finish off the game with 5.4 overs left.
Green had the best seat in the house and said that Allen is one of the best in the world when it comes to launching a calculated attack on the bowlers after powerplay.
The KKR all-rounder said he wasn’t surprised by the madness that Green pulled off in the end.
“Finn was exceptional today. He’s been really good for us – he’s got off to amazing starts every single time he’s been out there. That’s exactly what we have got him in the team for.”
“He’s one of the best in the world at doing that and putting pressure back on, and you know when he gets to 30 or 40, that he’s very hard to get out because he just keeps going. He never really tries to rein it back in. “
“I wasn’t surprised by what he did tonight. He’s been training really hard and I think he’s worked out a really good way to go about it. I’m so happy for him and it was so good to watch out down the other end,” said Green.
KKR will travel to Raipur next as they face RCB on May 13.
