Traffic Restrictions Announced for Gangaur, Eid in Udaipur | Udaipur Kiran

Udaipur, March 20, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Udaipur Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for March 21 in view of Gangaur festival, Mewar Festival 2026 and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Umesh Ojha, Gangaur processions from different communities and temples will pass through key areas including Surajpol, Ambamata, Dhanmandi, Hathipol and Ghantaghar before reaching Gangaur Ghat via Jagdish Chowk.

Gangaur & Mewar Festival Traffic Plan

Several areas will remain affected, including Hathipol to Harven Ji ka Khurra, Ghantaghar to Jagdish Chowk, Chandpol to Gangaur Ghat, Rang Niwas to Jagdish Chowk, Asthal Mandir, Mukherjee Chowk, Mandi Gate, Bhadbhuja Ghati and Bada Bazaar.

From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, only two-wheelers will be allowed in these क्षेत्रों. After 4:00 pm till the end of the programme, movement of all vehicles will be completely restricted.

Eid Prayer Traffic Arrangements

On the occasion of Eid, prayers will be offered at Palton Masjid (Chetak Circle) and Jama Masjid (Chamanpura). From 6:00 am till the end of prayers, traffic restrictions will be enforced in surrounding areas.

Movement of vehicles will be completely बंद on routes including Court Chauraha to Chetak via Hospital Road and Hathipol to Chetak via SBBJ Road. However, alternate routes such as Banshi Pan–MG College Road, Jhadiya Wala route and Shiksha Bhawan routes will remain operational.

Traffic from Shiksha Bhawan to Court Chauraha and Hathipol will be diverted via Jhadiya Wala and Daityamagri routes. Routes from Lok Kala Mandal and Pahadi Bus Stand towards Hathipol via Chetak will remain closed.

Similarly, Loha Bazaar, Ashwini Bazaar and Harven Ji ka Khurra towards Hathipol will remain completely restricted.

Bus Routes & Parking

Buses heading towards Gogunda, Mount Abu and Nathdwara will be diverted via Court Chauraha–Meera Girls College–Lok Kala Mandal–Mohata Park to Pahadi Bus Stand, and further via UIT Chauraha, Saheli Nagar and Fatehpura.

Parking for those attending Eid prayers will be arranged near the cemetery wall towards Shiksha Bhawan and along the Chetak Church wall.

Authorities have advised citizens to avoid bringing vehicles in restricted zones. Emergency services such as ambulance and fire brigade will remain operational.

The police have appealed to citizens to follow instructions of on-duty personnel to ensure smooth traffic management during the events.
