Bee Attack During Funeral Leaves 2 Dead, Over 50 Injured | Udaipur Kiran

Chittorgarh, March 14 (Mukesh Mundra): A shocking incident of repeated bee attacks in Kityas village of Parsoli area under Begun sub-division has left two people dead and more than 50 injured.

According to reports, an elderly man died on Tuesday after being attacked by bees during a religious event. On Wednesday, when people gathered for his last rites, bees attacked again, creating panic at the cremation site. People ran in all directions to save themselves as the swarm stung dozens present there.

Around 40 to 50 people were injured in the attack and were taken to the Parsoli Community Health Centre for treatment. Five seriously injured persons were referred to Chittorgarh hospital.

Following the incident, Sub-Divisional Officer Ankit Samariya alerted administrative and medical teams, while Tehsildar Gopal Jingar reached the spot. The administration later ensured the final rites of the deceased were conducted safely with personnel wearing PPE kits.

The deceased has been identified as Jamnesh, son of Pannalal Sukhwal, a resident of Parsoli, who had gone to attend a religious function in Kityas village. He was seriously injured in the bee attack and later died at Chittorgarh hospital early Wednesday morning.

After his death, a large number of villagers gathered for the funeral at the cremation ground, where the bees attacked again. In the chaos, many people were stung, while some also suffered injuries after falling while trying to escape.

All injured were brought to Parsoli hospital where they were given injections and primary treatment. Five critically injured were referred to Chittorgarh.

Meanwhile, Bhawani Shankar, son of Modu Lal Pandya, who was among those injured in the bee attack, also died during treatment at Chittorgarh hospital, taking the death toll to two.

Several injured persons are still undergoing treatment. Around 15 people have been admitted to Parsoli hospital.

Dinesh Ojha, PA to the MP, who was present at the funeral, said the sudden attack caused chaos, and while trying to escape, he fell into a pit and suffered a fracture in his ankle. He added that the situation was so severe that bees continued to sting even the body of the deceased.
