GBH Cancer Hospital Honours Over 100 Cancer Survivors


UDAIPUR: GBH Cancer Hospital in Bedwas hosted an emotional and inspiring event on Wednesday to honour more than 100 Cancer Survivors who have triumphed over this life-threatening disease. The programme was attended by cancer specialists, doctors, and members of the public, who gathered to salute the indomitable courage of these warriors.

The chief guest, Dr. Narendra Rathore, Head of the Cancer Department at RNT Medical College, praised GBH Cancer Hospital for its continuous service to cancer patients with advanced technology and a team of experienced experts. He highlighted that the growing trust and increasing number of patients are proof of the hospital’s quality. Dr. Rathore also pointed out that the state’s only TomoTherapy and advanced PET-CT scan machines are available at GBH, which is a matter of pride.

Dr. Kirti Kumar Jain, Chairman of GBH Group and a renowned cancer specialist working in the United States, said defeating cancer is entirely possible. He stated that about 70 percent of cancers in India can be prevented, while timely awareness, diagnosis, and modern treatment can fully cure three-fourths of the remaining 30 percent cases. Dr. Jain urged cancer survivors to become ambassadors of awareness in society to help others avoid this disease in time.

Senior neurologist Dr. Renu Khamesra, who has been battling cancer for the past 30 years herself, delivered an emotional address encouraging all cancer warriors. Survivor Dhankunwar shared his struggle story, saying he defeated cancer by consuming poison like Lord Shiva, making his life extraordinary.

The survivors were honoured with tilak and bouquets in a heartfelt ceremony. The event also featured dramatic performances and dance presentations focused on cancer causes and prevention, delivering a powerful message to the audience. The shared experiences of the cancer warriors touched everyone present deeply.

Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Vinay Joshi, Dean of American Medical College; Director Dr. Surabhi Porwal; Group Director Dr. Anand Jha; Dr. Dinesh Kothari; Dr. Mukesh Badjatya; cancer specialists Dr. Manan Sarupriya, Dr. Sachet Saxena, Dr. Narayan Adhikari, and many other doctors and dignitaries. The programme concluded with all survivors and guests releasing balloons as a symbol of hope and victory over cancer.

Udaipur city MLA Tarachand Jain could not attend due to the assembly session but sent a message for the survivors, which was read aloud at the event.

During the programme, the Breast Clinic was also inaugurated. Dr. Garima Mehta will provide regular treatment and consultation for breast-related diseases at this clinic.
