Four Friends Killed in Early-Morning Car Crash on Udaipur Bypass | Udaipur Kiran

UDAIPUR, January 18: (Udaipur Kiran). Four friends lost their lives and six others were injured after two cars collided head-on on the old Ahmedabad bypass near Nela Talab in the Savina area of Udaipur early Saturday morning. The impact of the crash was so severe that both vehicles were completely mangled, and victims had to be pulled out by breaking open the doors.

The accident occurred around 3 am. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the mortuary of MB Hospital, while the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Savina Station House Officer Ajayraj Singh said one car was registered in Udaipur, while the other had a Gujarat registration. Four occupants of the Udaipur-registered car died on the spot. They were identified as Mohammad Ayan (17) of Murshid Nagar, Savina; Adil Qureshi (14) of Barkat Colony, Savina; Sher Mohammad (19) of Mallatalai; and Ghulam Khwaja (17) of Savina.

Two others travelling in the same car, Wasim (20), son of Yusuf, and Mohammad Kaif (19), sustained serious injuries. Both were admitted to MB Hospital, Udaipur, though Wasim was later taken by his family to Ahmedabad for further treatment.

The SHO said January 16 was Mohammad Ayan’s birthday. He had attended a Mehfil-e-Milad programme near Nela Talab in the Savina area along with his five friends. After the event, the group went out in the car to have tea nearby. As they entered the bypass road, their vehicle collided with a car coming from the Gujarat side.

The Gujarat-registered car was also badly damaged in the crash. It was travelling from Rajgarh in Churu district towards Vapi in Gujarat. Four people, including a woman, were injured in that vehicle. The injured were identified as Mahipal Jat (48), son of Badiram Jat; his wife Rajbala (45); Rajesh (26), son of Mahipal Jat; and Karmveer Singh (24), son of Rajveer Jat.
