WPL 2026 schedule revealed, final to be played on 5 February: All you need to know


BCCI has announced the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 scheudule with the 20 over tournament set to begin from 9 January and the final match to be held on 5 February, 2026.

The fourth edition of WPL will be played across two venues DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and BCA Stadium in Vadodara. The Indian cricket board has not yet revealed the complete list of all matches yet.

WPL Chairperson Jayesh George announced the schedule of the tournament during the WPL auction. He said, “The upcoming edition of the WPL will be played in Navi Mumbai and the final will be held in Vadodara,”

The domestic Women’s league will be played in caravan model where the first half of the tournament will be played at the DY Patil Stadium while the second half will be played at Vadodra which will also host the final of the tournament.

Notably, just a month ago, India’s women had also scripted history at the DY Patil stadium when they defeated New Zealand to lift the 50 over World Cup.

The last edition of the WPL was won by Mumbai Indians while Delhi Capitals were the runner ups.

WPL Auctions:

The WPL 2026 auction is being held in New Delhi from today with players like Deepti Sharma, Amelia Kerr, and Meg Lanning in the reckoning. Notably, this is the first mega auction for the women’s league which is just three seasons old. In this auction, five teams are bidding for 277 players in order to fill the 73 available slots.

Deepti Sharma turned out to be the costliest player in the auction with the aggressive opener going for 3.2 crore to UP Warriorz via the Right to Match card.

Meanwhile, Amelia Kerr turned out to be the highest paid overseas player with the New Zealand all-rounder going to Delhi Capitals for 3 crore.

Australian all-rounder Jess Jonassen had withdrawn from the auction due to an injury. Meanwhile, the shocking development at this year’s auction was Australian captain Alyssa Healy going unsold at a base price of 50 lakh.
