WPL 2026 to Begin with MI vs RCB Clash, Final to Be Held in Vadodara | Udaipur Kiran


New Delhi, November 29 (Udaipur Kiran): The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 will begin on January 9 with a marquee clash between two-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and 2024 winners Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Sharing the schedule on Saturday, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that two double-header matches will be played in Navi Mumbai, while the final will be held on February 5 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Matches of WPL 2026 will be played in two phases. From January 9 to 17, 11 matches will be held in Navi Mumbai. The remaining 11 matches, including the playoffs, will take place in Vadodara.

The Vadodara leg will begin with a match between Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mumbai Indians will enter the season as the defending champions, while RCB remain the second team to have won the title.

Gujarat Giants will open the Vadodara leg against RCB, followed by a re-match of the 2025 final between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.

After the league stage ends on February 1, the second and third placed teams will play the Eliminator. The table topper will directly qualify for the final on February 5.
