Patwari Arrested in Beawar for Taking ₹7,000 Bribe | Udaipur Kiran


Jaipur, 18 November (Udaipur Kiran). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Ajmer unit on Tuesday arrested Anand Meghwal, Patwari of Patwar Halkha Roopnagar, Beawar, after he was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹7,000.

Acting under the instructions of the ACB headquarters, the Ajmer unit conducted the trap operation following a complaint that the patwari had demanded ₹8,000 from a complainant to process the namantaran (mutation) of inherited land. During verification on 13 November 2025, the bribe amount was settled at ₹7,000.

On 18 November, the complainant was asked to place the money on the table in front of the accused, from where the ACB team recovered the bribe amount. The trap was executed under the supervision of ACB Ajmer Range SP Mahaveer Singh Ranawat and led by Additional SP Bhagchandra, Inspector Meera Beniwal and the ACB Ajmer team.

The accused patwari has been taken into custody, and further interrogation is underway. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, and investigation will continue.
