Pakistan shift Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe tri-series to Rawalpindi after Islamabad blast

The T20I tri-series hosted by Pakistan alongside Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka has been shifted entirely to Rawalpindi in the wake of the suicide bombing in Islamabad, earlier this week.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have released a statement on Thursday, November 13 with the revised schedule for the tri-series. It will be key for all three sides as they look to prepare themselves for the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.

There were concerns within the Sri Lankan team in the wake of the bombing in Islamabad. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) had revealed that the players requested to return home, citing safety concerns.

Afghanistan, who were to participate in this tri-series, withdrew last month after the death of three local cricketers that the Afghanistan Cricket Board said were due to military strikes in Paktika province. They were replaced by Zimbabwe.
