
Udaipur, November 12 (Udaipur Kiran): The City of Lakes witnessed a night of pure melody and nostalgia as the timeless tunes of Kishore Kumar came alive at a grand musical evening held at the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal on Wednesday. Titled ‘Amit Kumar Live in Concert,’ the event featured Amit Kumar, son of the legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar, and his granddaughter Muktika Ganguly, who together enchanted the audience with evergreen hits and soulful renditions.
Kishore Da’s Songs Bring the Crowd to Life
As the first notes of “Yeh Shaam Mastani” and “Raat Nashiili Mast Sama Hai” filled the air, the packed auditorium erupted in applause. The moment Amit Kumar and Muktika stepped onto the stage, the audience was transported into the golden era of Hindi film music.
Amit Kumar’s performance of hits like “Bachna Ae Haseeno,” “Kora Kagaz Tha Yeh Man Mera,” “Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani,” “Keh Doon Tumhe,” “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain,” “Raat Kali Ek Khwab Mein Aayi,” “Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se,” and “Neela Neela Ambar Pe” had the audience singing and swaying along. Each song drew thunderous applause and emotional responses from fans who grew up on Kishore Da’s unforgettable voice.
Muktika, representing the next generation of the musical family, impressed the crowd with her energetic performances of “Kamli,” “Crazy Kiya Re,” “Dum Maro Dum,” and “Tu Kya Jaane.” Her fresh vocals and stage presence added a youthful charm to the evening, while her rendition of “Hare Krishna Hare Ram” created a chorus effect among the audience.

Before the main concert, several local Udaipur artists took the stage and delivered stellar performances. Artists such as Gaurav Medtwal, Komal Barhath, Kunal Mehta, Kapil Paliwal, Dr. Chitrasen, Divyansh Sharma, Kartik Sompura, Bhavesh Vairagi, Yuvaraj Singh, Sandeep Nagda, Ankit Chauhan, and Kanishka Verma received warm applause for their contributions, highlighting the rich musical talent in Udaipur.

The event, jointly organized by Indira Enterprises, Kashti Foundation, and Ultimate Soul of Music (USM), opened with group performances by the USM ensemble, featuring Urvashi Singhvi, Lata Bhandari, Renu Bhanthia, Dr. H.S. Bhui, Dinesh Galundia, Lavel Chhabra, Meetu Kawedia, Deepa Verma, Umesh Manwani, Rani Bhui, Seema Singh, Dilip Surana, Sanjay Verma, and Dr. M.L. Gupta. Their seamless harmony of rhythm and melody set the tone for the evening’s magic.
A Tribute to Dr. Ajay Murdia’s 73rd Birthday
The musical night was dedicated to the 73rd birthday of renowned IVF specialist and film producer Dr. Ajay Murdia. The event was conceptualized by Neetij-Shraddha Murdia and Kshitij-Aastha Murdia, blending music, emotion, and community spirit. The evening also saw participation from Indira Murdia and their grandson Veer Murdia, who joined in celebrating the occasion.
Part of the ‘Indira Swarangan’ concert series, the event followed previous performances by celebrated artists such as Padma Anup Jalota, lyricist Sameer Anjaan, singer Suresh Wadkar, and filmmaker Vikram Bhatt.
