Jaipur, November 9 (Udaipur Kiran) — In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Malviya Nagar Police and District Special Team (East) have arrested two foreign nationals involved in supplying cocaine in Jaipur. The arrests were made under ‘Operation Clean Sweep’, an ongoing campaign against drug mafias in the city.
Police seized 13.44 grams of cocaine and a two-wheeler (scooter) used for transporting the contraband. Both accused are currently under intensive interrogation to trace other members of their network.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Sanjeev Nay, the joint team detained Austin Iz Chuku (35) and Peter Okwoodili (38), both residents of Abulegba district, Lagos (Nigeria), currently residing in Shivdaspura, Jaipur.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had been supplying cocaine in Jaipur for a long time, primarily targeting college students and hotel guests. They reportedly delivered the narcotics on call and operated within the city’s youth and student circles.
Police officials stated that the operation was part of a broader effort to curb the illegal drug trade and dismantle foreign-linked supply networks in Rajasthan’s capital. Further questioning is underway to identify their suppliers, customers, and links to larger drug syndicates.
